There will be a $25.00 processing fee for all changes and cancellations after registration has been processed. No refunds or exchanges will be made after January 17, 2007

Class Selection: Only one person from each company may attend the same Technique class. There is no limit on tickets for special events or lecture/demo classes.
Although every effort will be made to assign your first choice for classes, please indicate a second and third choice should your first choice not be available.
Class Fees & Special Events: Costs are shown with descriptions on preceding pages. On the Registration Form indicate in the blanks the A, B, C, (attendee) etcetera, wishing to attend that session.
The luncheon and all other special events are open to all registrants.
Confirmations: If you have not received a confirmation within three weeks of your mail back date, please contact the NMI office.
Payment: When ordering badges or tickets for classes or special events with a fee, payment must accompany the order form. Payment can be made by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or company check made payable to NMI.
For non-USA payments, use an International Money Order only. Checks and/or money orders must be payable in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank.
Restrictions: Smoking allowed in designated areas only.
No cameras are allowed in exhibit rooms without prior written approval from NMI.
No solicitation is permitted by companies or individuals not exhibiting in a purchased booth space.

#1 I Always Promised You a Rose Garden!

Everyone loves roses! They add such romance to your projects. Learn several different techniques for making roses using 4m, 7mm & 13mm ribbons (and longer if you want). These can be embroidered directly on or added to your projects. Then we will switch ventures and learn to make a bullion rose which is a perfect size for smaller projects and cross stitch designs. Plan your spring garden and come learn to make these lucious roses that will "wow" and inspire your customers.

#3 One Design Fits All

This design will bring customers to your shop several times. First you can teach them the 8 specialty stitches that are included in this design. Then, another class, showing them how to finish the design as the top for a box. The good news is, the design will fit whatever size box you have. To make it more festive we choose to coordinate the linen and the threads around the holidays. There are four different versions of the design, and you can pick the one that will work best for you. Apart from the specialty stitches and the finishing, we will also talk about marketing your class. Please share your ideas and suggestions and hear what others have to share too. Nashville attendees of this class will get an exclusive scissor fob design that has 2 more specialty stitches as well as finishing instructions.

Learn how to make a handmade book that incorporates fabric, paper, cross stitch and embellishment techniques. We will demonstrate the making of the book and show embellishment ideas. Each attendee will receive a kit to complete your book at home. You will stitch on an embellishment project for your book in class. Bring scissors, cross stitch and chenille needle.

#5 Here Kitty
Instructor: Cheryl Schaeffer
Cheryl Schaeffer Designs, Santa Ana, CA

This design is done with the beginner in mind. It is a Kitty peeking out from a window. Handpainted on 13 ct mono canvas. A variety of easy stitches are used. Rainbow Gallery Threads are used to enhance this design. The student will need to bring stretcher bars, and scissors. This is a fast and easy project that can be taught as a beginner class in the shop

#6 Get More Mileage From Your Cross Stitch Charts!

In this class Tracey will demonstrate ways to take a basic cross stitch chart and use it to create a beautiful beaded design. Beadweaving continues to grow in popularity and you will learn the Herringbone Stitch, Square Stitch and how to bead on a loom. Full Circle Designs and Funk and Weber have provided charts for us to use in our class - but you can use any chart in your inventory to do these interesting stitches. For those of you already acquainted with Frank and Judy Bielic (and particularly Frank) we don’t have to tell you that you never know what will come out. But we can tell you that it is always humorous and filled with useful information.

Frank says that it depends on the energy and questions of the audience. “Right now I think we need to discuss Market and Design Trends. How can the average shop owner incorporate these trends into shop display? Tips on where the young are going to buy their needle craft projects. Tips on getting the young into your shop.“ Whatever the topic, this is time spent that will be both beneficial and enjoyable.

#10 Digital Photography For Needlework Retailers and Designers

Have you ever heard this fabric/thread doesn’t look at all like the picture? A good photo can enhance sales, and a bad photo is a source of frustration for you and your customers.
This class will demystify some of the technical aspects of taking and processing a good digital photo. Major topics will include anatomy of a camera, the home studio, capturing the shot, and post processing. We will explore each of these areas and give you options for economical effective photos for your shop newsletter, website or chart covers. If you don’t know the difference between shutter speed and color corrections, this class will help you understand some of the intricacies of digital photography.
Bring your camera and the manual for your camera; we will examine camera settings in class using the manual for your camera, to provide you reference when you are not in class.

Relax and enjoy the camaraderie before our quick paced evening in the hotel atrium during the Embassy's famous Manager's Reception. Free cocktails will only be served to Embassy guests with keys, however other attendees are encouraged to stay and enjoy the fellowship.
